Bottom-line: Reminds me of why I stopped going to Negro Step Shows

Review: When I saw this film listed I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was a cruel joke created because someone overheard how much I felt the first film was just another bad Negro film. Alas, this film was a reality and proved to be worse than the first – I guess they showed me. At least the first one had STEPPING/STOMPING. This sequel was a horrible let down that should have been named Step Up 4: Another Snore. (Step Up 3D at least had decent dancing and cute tricks).

This film started off bad and ended with a good ‘ol fashioned WTF? It felt as though the production ran out of money and that’s why the film had to end that way. It was a bigger disappointment than I could have imagined. As I watched I caught myself scolding myself and asking “why go on?” The plot was juvenile and the acting felt forced. A bunch of Negros running around horny and with attitudes was too much for me to stomach. I see that Stephen “Twitch” Boss, from So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) made another appearance in a film for 2010. Fortunately for him, less folks will see this crapper since it will not be shown on the big screen like Step Up 3D.

College films should either have murder, sex, or sex and then murder, or at least a group of nerds that makes one laugh. This film had none of the above. Although this was to be another typical Negro Fraternity/Sorority film, it was worse than usual. The main character, Chance Harris, felt too hard up to show off and reminded me of a Chihuahua that always yelped at the bigger dogs because of his Napoleon Complex. After Harris had his frat get into a fight and they didn’t know why they were fighting, I had enough of him and the film.

Avoid this if you value your time and money. I’m sure BET will air it consecutively until a group of 6-year-olds can recite the film line by line. The steps were weak to nonexistent, the dancing was worse, and this film gets a fat goose egg on blades and a WTF? for wasting time.
