Review: Another welcomed addition to the British Invasion 2008 is Duffy. I first caught on to this chick August of 2008 and have been listening ever since. This sultry singer bolted onto the U.S. music charts with fire as she continued what Amy Winehouse started; and that was to bring back a taste of the 60s. The album opens with Rockferry and reminds me of To Sir, With Love‘s title song sung by Lulu. This is the sophomore project of the Welsh singer and she brought her A game.

From start to finish Duffy gives her all and leaves the listener wanting for more. Stepping Stone, Serious, Mercy, Syrup & Honey, & delayed Devotion were all outstanding songs on the album. Out of all the British Invasion that has happened in 2008, this has been one of the favorable ones. For a sound that has been missed but always brings back fond memories, Rockferry gets 10 full blades. Hopefully the U.S. following up album will be equally as pleasing.
