for all the times of telling me that my spirituality was inferior to your religious theories; for waking me up from trusting my immediate surroundings and myself; for teaching me to believe and trust in strangers who lie to me on a consistent basis – at least they were consistent; for punishing me for committing the exact same acts that you have taught me; for teaching me and my loved ones to lie to each other; for false hopes, dreams, choices, changes, and revolutions.

for hiding my true existence from me and the histories that fill the past of my lineage; for holding back where i truly may have come from; for disguising your thievery as an attempt to help me; for showing me that i needed a soul once you arrived into my realm; for having me believe in only your witch craft and none of my own; for feeding me badly manufactured solids and liquids; for injecting me with poisons disguised as treatments of illnesses i never had; thank you.

thank you for teaching me to wear shoes.
