Graduation sold approximately 957,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, becoming the biggest sales week for an album in 2007 so far (topping Linkin Park‘s 625,000 sales week) as well as West’s biggest sales week to date, topping his 860,000 opening week of his previous album Late Registration. In addition it became the 15th biggest sales week for an album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991, and the biggest sales week for an album since 50 Cent’s The Massacre opened with 1.1 million in March 2005.
Well congrats to both. There are two Negros on the top of the charts and they can’t complain about money coming into their pockets. At least not the businessman 50 Cent.
Hopefully this will be the last month we’ll have to hear about this or see The Infant cry….
