This time she’s crying over the scandal that her school had regarding the abusive dormitory mother. The students alleged that the woman, not directly hired by Winfrey, sexually abused them. She is now out on bail and her position will not be renewed. Winfrey, a victim herself, states that she will “clean house”. Winfrey said that she will be involved in restructuring what the job should detail. This scandal seems to draw light on the school and how the staff treat the children. This all girl school is said to be a very important venture for Ms. Winfrey.

Now let’s hold up the train for just a few seconds. Where the heck was Oprah when the first drafts of the details for these jobs were being confirmed? As someone who went to Africa, with a media crew, I would have thought that she’d do a much better job ensuring some type of structure was set into place. This should have been done before people sent their children to sleep over in a dorm. These are not college girls so more preparation should have been made. All the tears in the world can’t reverse that. What was the rush that stronger protection could not be made for these young girls?

Was Winfrey in such a hurry to be hailed, once again, as a heroine for African women that these “small details” were overlooked. Many will claim that Winfrey cares, but caring did not prevent this twisted mind from preying on these children. Focus better next time and keep the media at bay, at least until the first semester can go off without a hitch. Now look at this mess.
