finger painting We always hear of the drama that surrounds these nursery, kindergarten, grade, and high schools. This morning I woke up to a twisted documentary showing the detailed mess that folks go through. All throughout viewing it I continued to question why people placed themselves and their children through this bullshit. When I heard some of the statements made by the administrators of these programs I knew for sure this was a bullshit process. One of the administrators stated that they were “forced” into this process while another told the parents that they [the parents] placed all this pressure on themselves. I had to agree partially with both of these statements and many others. The schools and parents are to blame for the situation they currently are in. There is no need for a $9,000 school year for a three-year-old child to finger fucking paint. The paint is $3. WTF? Folks are huddled in rooms in groups to have sessions and discuss what the school is about. It should be about my child gaining some social interaction skills and the school reinforcing the desires of both father and mother. Once my man and myself no longer feel that is what is happening the child is withdrawn. Why do these schools have such a commanding hold?

A father was cluing in his Hispanic wife on the process of receiving “envelopes and packages.” She inquired who created the system and he said he didn’t know. Let me clue him and the others who perpetrate that same crap. YOU and other White people created that bullshit system. YOU created the fucked up notion that parents are incapable of teaching their own fucking children. Not even the basic, fundamental tools are being encouragingly taught at home because folks are in fear that they are not “doing it correctly.” Seriously? Give me a break. From A B C to 1 2 3, both the Jackson 5 and Elmo said that it’s easy. What’s the problem?

Why are schools so fucked up? Because we as a nation have become neglectful. We have reserved teaching for schools and people with degrees. Parents are becoming more and more dependent on strangers to prepare their children for college and “the world.”. What happened to us trusting ourselves to know how to raise our children? Why spend so much money to pay someone in Manhattan (or anywhere else) to pay their lease? This is ONLY preschool.

The system is set up for children to be imprisoned from the time they can speak and acknowledge concepts until they are at least 18. Then the prison terms become somewhat self-inflicted. I just finished my self-inflicted 2-year term and am contemplating another 3-year sentence. At least I’ll be caught up until the system develops another way to make us feel inadequate of speaking to each other or counting with calculators.

Until I watch the beginning of the documentary I will reserve my feelings for the people in them, however, the system is a messed up one and folks need to get their heads right and focus. The world will continue to be fucked until we as a people pull it together and change not only ourselves but the systems in which we have placed ourselves.
