Some New Yorkers like to exclaim how much they hate tourists. Well I hate folks who believe the world is their living room. What do I mean by this you may ask. I mean that how some folks walk around as if they are walking in their living rooms enjoying the view. Others have lives to live and need to walk around to get to them.
When you mosey on down the sidewalk scratching your ass as if you’re in an empty world you interrupt a natural flow of movement that others call walking. If person A is walking 5 miles per hour and person B swings out of nowhere, directly in front of person A at 2 miles per hour; how long will it take for person A to trip or curse out person B. In New York, not long at all. Person B would be very lucky to walk away with bruised feelings or a dirty look or both.
Folks, be kind and walk as if you have a life to live that goes faster than e miles per hour. You might save your life one night.
