Journalists Given Attention While Mckinney Gets Ignored

prison walk Well after a few days of talk Billy Clinton has done what he and those in power have set out to do: set free a few crabs. Did Billy go down and pick up Cynthia and the 20 other captives last month? This negro woman was in an Israeli jail for MONTHS ever since the Israeli military took over the boat the humanitarians were on. The excuse for the arrest was that the boat entered the Israeli waters. We all know that’s bullshit, but what was really fucked up was that the fuckers wanted McKinney to sign release papers in HEBREW! She doesn’t speak or read Hebrew so why draw up papers in that language? Why nothing in English? It’s not like Israel can’t find someone to write the terms of her release in ENGLISH. Why the bullshit? They wanted her and the others to confess to a crime? A crime? To what, harm with a cyan crayon?!! To bandage up all enemies with gauze and medical tape??!! Ooooooo… no wonder they were so frightened of a group of unarmed humanitarians.

The humanitarians’ boat was given permission to bring medical and building supplies to those in Gaza. Why has the U.S. been fucking mum on the issue? The fact that they left McKinney and twenty other U.S citizens over there to fend for themselves is no surprise. Even the boldness of their bullshit regarding these two journalists is no ruffle to my feathers. The outright slackness and disregard for people has become tiresome. The mainstream media has completely blocked out the issue that not only have 21 US citizens been held captive but that one of them was a congresswoman and a candidate in the 2009 Presidential race. Perhaps her suitcase full of crayons truly could have been used as a weapon… :: insert blank stare here ::

So when I show little enthusiasm or relief that these two women were “released” from their captives trust that it has nothing to do with them. They are mere pawns in the grand scheme of things.

The truth is that Israel lied to the world. Israel lied to the families of these young women. Israel lied to the women themselves who are now trapped in Ramle’s detention facility. And what are we to do? One of my cell mates cried today. She has been here for 6 months. As an American, crying with them is not enough. The policy of the United States must be better, and while we watch President Obama give 12.8 trillion dollars to the financial elite of the United States it ought now be clear that hope, change, and ‘yes we can’ were powerfully presented images of dignity and self-fulfillment, individually and nationally, that besieged people everywhere truly believed in.

It was a slick marketing campaign as slickly put to the world and to the voters of America as was Israel’s marketing to the world. It tricked all of us but, more tragically, these young women.
