Throughout the years this man has remained one of the most influential men in the entertainment industry. Isaac Hayes was introduced to the world through “Hot Buttered Soul” in 1969 an secured a place in their hearts with his hit “Theme from Shaft.” The 70s brought us Shaft starring Richard Roundtree and Isaac brought us the theme that would forever stay with us. The beats were unmistakable and would be recognized no matter what. Mr. Hayes taught himself his musical skills and they got him elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Soon he was into making films and a few became my favorites and added to my collection. The classic I’m Gonna Get You Sucka, Reindeer Games, and It Could Happen to You. In 2006 controversy hit when Mr. Hayes abruptly quit South Park over an episode that re-aired making fun of Scientology and Tom Cruise. It was said that Mr. Hayes became a Scientology follower and lost his mind. Another twist to the story was a claim that Mr. Hayes himself never quit due to the fact that he suffered from a stroke. Either way, he was no longer on the show and his character was killed off. (It was a funny episode).

Either way he will be missed!
