Goldman Treated Better Than Gonzalez

The US never surprises me and the jokes continue. Not too long ago another International Child Custody Battle was going on and it just so happens that it occurred during the Christmas holidays. When many begged that the little boy be sent home, the father’s rights were ignored in that case to the point the “mean dictator” almost flew his entire country to the U.S. to plead a case for the child’s return. Now that shoe is on the other foot, it seems that the U.S. would like consideration for a situation they refused to give to another.

Many may have forgotten Elián González and the drama his family was taken through when his mother kidnapped him from Cuba and risked his life to sneak into the U.S. to live with a family he never knew, but a large majority have not. Now that a Brazilian woman has done this but sent the child to her family’s country, Brazil, the U.S. media is playing the sympathy card for the father. However, where was this pathetic sympathy card when Mr. Juan Miguel González was begging and pleading for the return of his son? Where are the bullshit analysts to moan about the mother’s rights and her deathbed wishes?

Both boys were old enough to speak their wishes to the courts. Elián continued to beg for his father, little brother and family, yet his wishes were ignored to the point that a SWAT team had to forcibly retrieve the child and send him to his father. This child, Sean Goldman, is 9 and more than capable of saying where he wants to live yet his father refused that as an option. Plus, New Jersey’s governor found money and time from his corrupt and crooked state to prance around Brazil and pretend to give a shit. Anything to add credits to a resume I see.

Now poor, sad David has his son back in the States and is doing another round of TV tours. I even found an old article crying foul on Brazil and their possible “vengeance” on the U.S. for all the hypocritical bullshit they [the U.S.] like to pull. I’m just glad this is one less thing in the news for me to ignore. I was just getting tired of hearing the bullshit from New Jersey being paraded in the media.
