Going for the Broken

sorryWhat good is religion if we cannot truly forgive and move on? Folks always wonder why I am skeptical of religion and my reasoning continue to be proven without me seeking out the evidence. If bad things happen, when is it appropriate to let go?

The tragedy of two families forever being changed by death should be enough for people to decide not to allow the event(s) to actually destroy the survivors. Alas this is a society of faux justice and folks want immediate blood. People who speak of the woman who recently drove in the wrong direction and killed not only herself and three of her four minor children, but killed three men in another car; speak of someone needing to “pay” for her mistake. If I’m not mistaken she has already paid with not only her life but the lives of three of her children.

What is going through the minds of folks who think going after her husband will make up for the loss that these two families have suffered? Where are the millions of church goers now? Where are all the religious folks to help calm the tension? Did the families truly listening to the sermons and religious songs that have been performed at the funerals? How is taking the father away from his only surviving child helping anyone? Has anyone considered what that child is going through? The fact that he needs his father more than ever to help guide him through the tragic event that removed his mother and three siblings out of his life all in one flash? Of course not, because this is a me society and his feelings don’t come into play for the religious adults.

Same for the air traffic controllers who are in jeopardy of losing their jobs. One was on the phone with his woman and the boss was not in the building. Despite the reveal that the controller had no fault in the tragedy, people still think him and his boss need to lose their jobs. In this type of economy people are willing to bring extra hard times on someone else even when they have been cleared of direct wrong-doings. Wow! If that’s not a good fuck you then I don’t know what is.

Things like this always makes me say hmmm because of the degree of bullshit that happens. As the bitter left behind give the finger to forgiveness they continue to bring destruction to others suffering. However, when blinders are on, folks truly show what’s in their hearts and minds – taking care of numero uno.
