Sweet Gawd. Seems that pop sensation Beyonce no longer wants to be simply considered a “hot girl/pop star” but rather a legend/icon like Etta James. She will portray James in an upcoming movie role, hopefully her acting will be better than that of her past roles. She’s not the best actress but has a powerful promotions team. Who else can “receive” a Star on The Walk of Fame before true legends?
I have a suggestion Beyonce. Why not allow time and your work dictate what you’ll be? I don’t recall Etta James telling the press who’d listen back then, “Hey, call me a legend!” Maybe the problem in the industry today is that folks want to create the illusion that they are amazing. Fall back and enjoy your position. Labels will come soon enough.
Simply focus on gaining the weight for the movie (that should not be too difficult) and follow the directions of your acting coach. Did you finally hire Jennifer Hudson, or whoever trained her? After all, she was the supporting actress who walked away with that Golden paper weight.
I love Etta so concentrate!
