2009: Year of the Emotionally Needy Employers

The year of 2009 has seen the return of the emotionally needy employers. The sad thing is that they have created a breed of equally emotional subordinates to coordinate with their life imbalances. Since when did corporations pay employees to become emotional crutches for employers? Why the need to make others feel inadequate? Perhaps these are people who make no difference in the world outside of their current employment? Maybe these people who shit on others at work get shitted on in their personal life? Why demand so much attention from folks who could careless about your personal life? If it mattered to them they would show genuine interest without being prompted. Don’t you get that? Don’t you have people outside of work to talk to?

If not, get a fucking dog or hire a psychologist. At least one can pretend to care by the hour and the other would care for food and a tummy rub. Let your employees enjoy life and do what they are paid to do – work. If they choose to extend themselves beyond that level then fine; the choice should be theirs.
