Salty But Good

Official Drop Date: July 23, 2010

Grade: A

Blade(s): 9

Bottom-line: Good, but she’s not the trailblazer some would like her to be.

Review: I saw some resemblance in this film to The Long Kiss Goodnight with Gena Davis and that’s a good thing. With a few changes the creators came up with Salt and Jolie did what she does best, pout into a camera, tumble around, shoot guns, and run. The movie has been crowned the first film to have a female spy go all out and not be sexy and that must have been from folks who never watched the original La Femme Nakita or The Long Kiss Goodnight.

That’s cool. Not everyone will know of movies past what they are fed in the mainstream media and that’s what the older, less tainted generation is for. Salt is a film that can be added to the list of female spies that hold their own against the men. 9 blades and an A for a strong film and looking forward to a possible sequel or two.
