Review: Alright folks, the time has come to dust off your good candles and make plans for a relaxing night at home with the one you love (over or self) and prepare to enjoy the musical ride that Sade offers. Sade returns with their smoking hot new album that brings the sensual vocals of Sade Adu back to the limelight where it belongs. The Soul/R&B music soothes out any and all rough edges of a day and relaxes the senses. The album is packed with songs that I can listen to repeatedly non-stop and have so far. This is a great addition to any music collection.

The songs all compliment each other and your senses as nothing feels “out of place” or like a last minute addition as so many albums in the industry have become. It feels as if someone took the time to choose the songs and how specific melodies work. From “The Moon & the Sky” to “The Safest Place” the album had my attention with every beat. The title track, “Soldier of Love,” is a hot release and is a sweet sample of what fans and newcomers should expect from the album and band.

“We were waiting for the bus, no one much around but us. Then I see this young boy cut a look at me. I’m stunned, in a daze. He had the whole street set ablaze…” “…she liked his eyes, she wanted more. The baby gonna have your smile, for sure…” Just a taste of the words from “Babyfather.” “Bring Me Home” and “Skin” are a few other songs worth a mention.

The cohesiveness the Sade brings to the album is amazing and so few artists are capable of this. They bring power and consistency with their sixth studio release. Soldier of Love is a must listen and gets 10 blades.
