Bottom-line: Senseless violence; plot-less film.

Review: I was torn between excitement and fear of what would become of a film filled with action stars that have never shared the screen at the same time before. Would everyone be whispering in their best rough voice or would they all be struggling to outshine each other. The results were decent – not excellent but not “get up and walk out” bad either. The best part was that not all the action guys were supposed to be “good guys” and they did not hold back on the fight scenes.

The storyline was weak, but that’s not a surprise. They kept things simple but like I said to BR associates, the general’s daughter was a wasted character and the Somalia Pirates were bullshit characters in every way (no reflection on the actors – simply the premise). More could have been done with her. So if all you want is a moment of mindless action and some quick jokes here and there, this is the film for you. If you are seeking profound dialogue and a strong plot – keep it moving. 5 blades and a C for a film that gave what was to be expected – explosions and grunts. Arrrr.
